For my Japanese illiterate friends, allow me to explain.
The Pani Poni Dash Official Website has a special goods section. In that section, they give you information on a Momotsuki Gakuen uniform that you can buy online. It comes in a nice jacket + skirt ensemble. The colors are a little too… uhm… ugly for my tastes but I’m not here to preach my fashion preferences. What caught my attention is that next to the listed available sizes (Small, Medium, Large, X-Large) there is a small disclaimer. The disclaimer (circled above) says “女性サイズになります。” That tranlsates to “These will be in women’s sizes.”
Really? Why they decided to share this trivial piece of information is beyond me. Actually, I know exactly why they did it and I’m sure you do, too. Let’s just stop here.
Other observations
- According to the latest currency exchange rates, the jacket costs $171 and the skirt costs $133. Don’t let the top picture fool you. The caption on the bottom says “Skirt sold separately.”
- Sales tax in Japan in only 5%, but they also have square watermelons for $150 over there so it evens out.
- This show isn’t that funny, although it has its moments. Those who say it is either have a weird sense of humor or don’t speak Japanese (Please note that this show has a lack of fansubs for various reasons). Considering the general consensus on 2ch regarding this show, I’m willing to bet it’s the latter.
- The manga is even worse. It’s like the ugliest thing I’ve ever seen. This is one of the few times where the anime doesn’t totally piss all over the original manga.
