Medication
I went to the doctor yesterday to get some medicine for my recurring heartburn. He gave me a prescription for Zantac (super strength!) and as I was leaving the health center, I looked at the list of side effects for this drug.
- Nausea
- Diarrhea
- Dizziness
- Unusual tiredness or weakness
- Vomiting
- Constipation
- Joint pain
- Confusion
- Enlargement of the breasts in males
What kind of a drug is this?
First of all, what good is this for my heartburn if it causes vomiting and nausea? Second, why (and how) does it cause diarrhea and/or constipation? My theory is that it’s caused by the confusion side effect.
I don’t mind the breasts though. Frankly, I’m really looking forward to them.
Hippie Ninjas
As I was walking back to my car today, I saw a Prius drive by.
Great mother, that thing is obscenely quiet. You can sneak up behind people and run them over before they even notice. You can tell it’s a Japanese car because of its ninja-like attributes. I wonder if it can commit seppuku.
一撃必殺!!!
Game Night
I visited Pat (a Bearcade buddy from Berkeley) on Saturday. We played games. We played lots of games. I like playing lots of games. Games make LK write English ungood.
My new MAS stick got a good workout from this gaming session (more on that later). We played Guilty Gear XX #Reload and Marvel for about 6 hours. As expected, he killed me in #Reload and I maintained my utter dominance in Marvel. Here’s a brief recap of the night.
Guilty Gear XX #Reload
Pat actually played a lot of XX before and I’m some scrub who’s only played it like 5 times. Needless to say, I didn’t put up much of a fight. The most important lesson I learned was to attack low once in a while. Seeing as how I’m an I-No player, the potential for high/low mindgames is right there in front of me. It’s not my fault that all of her dash attacks are overheads! I’m a really slow learner, so yeah whatever, I’ll do that next time.
I hate Axl, and Eddie can go to hell too… Oh wait…
Dinner
Claremont sure doesn’t feel like a college town, but maybe that’s 4 years of Berkeley talking for me. I like Burger King chicken tenders. Too bad the motherfuckers there didn’t give me any sauce.
Marvel
We both suck at this game. Thankfully, I suck less (I hope so, seeing as how I dedicated 2 years of my life to this game) so I redeemed myself for my poor showing at #Reload. Here are some thoughts on Marvel.
1. I still don’t fully understand the dynamics and fundamentals behind Team Row (Mag/Sent-A/Cable), but that team is sure as hell fun to play with. Sentinel really benefits from having a fast projectile assist behind him. I’m still not completely sold on the rocket punch assist though. What can I say? I’m a coward! I’d rather hide behind drones than some dumb RP.
2. How do people win with MSP? The patience and careful planning involved when going up against a team that’s packing an AAA (almost everyone) is very deceiving, considering that this team supposedly lives by the motto of RTSD.
3. I’ve been spoiled by drones and the corridor. I realized how much I really depend on the two best assists in the game.
4. I own Pat in Marvel. In all honesty, that’s all that really matters in the end… Right? o_0
Side story – Buying a MAS stick
I bought a MAS stick last week. It was a definite impulse-buy because I don’t really play fighting games anymore. Now when I go over to play games at other people’s places, I don’t have to be bashful about asking if I can play on a pad. I carry my own stick now, beeyotch! I’m still getting used to it though.
Anyways, my MAS stick is worth every penny. If you live in socal and are looking to buy a stick, go there and order it in person. You’ll be pleasantly surprised.
Explode with hate…
It’s a dangerous fate…
I love that song. GYPBS for anyone who can name the song and the artist.
Cranium
Scott treated me to Curry House last night. It was good seeing him and we had lots of good shit to talk about. It’s always nice to be reminded that I have good friends.
We fucked shit up in Cranium (some board game) when Scott and I played against his friends who went to Cerritos High School. I owned everyone up in humming songs, sculpting and drawing. It’s nice to know that my creative talents are not degenerating from the bombardment of useless shit that I’m learning in my CS classes.
One of the things I had to do in Cranium was act out a word without saying anything. The word was “missionary”, so while my opponent was trying to decribe a Christian missionary through gestures, I was busy humping the kitchen floor on all fours. I think it’s safe to assume that different minds work in different ways. I don’t think I left any good first impressions for Scott’s friends, but then again, do I ever for anyone?
Happy Birthday part 2
Happy birthday to Andy Liau! I didn’t get a chance to post this until now, sorry Andy!

Playoff Football and Video Games
3 things about the NFC playoff game between Green Bay and Philadelphia.
1. Why did Favre heave the ball down the field in overtime without even looking? I think he should have taken the sack.
2. I never knew you couldn’t call 2 consecutive timeouts on the same play.
3. FOURTH AND 26!!!!!
Overall, I was happy with the end result of the game (the Eagles won), since I had money riding on the outcome. Next week, I have to pick the winner of the NFC championship game. I’d be a fool to not pick the Eagles again, but I’ll still have to think about it. Sports is infinitely more enjoyable when money is on the line, even if it is small change.
In other news, I got my PS2 yesterday.
I need an arcade stick because I can’t play GGXX #Reload with the PS2 pad. I asked for a Japanese PS2 but my cousin got me a Korean one. The Korean one plays all Japanese games but it comes with this funky looking plug because Korea uses a different power system than in America. So he also sent this huge voltage converter thing (from 220V to 110V). It’s almost as big as my Dreamcast and 5 times as heavy. I think it’s for like refrigerators and shit, but as long as my PS2 works, I guess I shouldn’t be complaining.
I haven’t even touched Tokimeki Memorial 2 (Legit version this time, thus a working disc 4), and Tokimeki Memorial 3 yet. I’ve been too busy playing mission mode on GGXX #Reload. Blah, I shouldn’t be playing games, but I can’t help myself sometimes.
